Sanyo Electric company has announced that they will introduce a projector with the shortest and ultra slim projective distance in the world in July 2010 - PDG-DWL2500.
Previous model LP-XL50 has its projective distance approximately 45 cm for 80 inch wide image. This new model has shortened its projective distance to 32 cm and this is made by the help of mechanism of optic mirrors with very short distance. Even in the case when the projector is placed in front of a wall is able to make 74 inch large picture. One of its advantages is that if people stand exactly in front of the picture, they will not make any unwanted shadow. Sanyo has also developed new DLP optical mechanism and so has achieved compact size decreased to a half of original previous model volume. Frame sequential display method is utilized for 3D imaging with 3D glasses. Thanks to the 3D technology and projector with short projective distance is able to make a 3D projection in some limited place and so extend area for utilization of projections. Recommended retail price is 450.000 yens, which is approximately 4000 euros.
